If you can appreciate the many sounds of music from around the globe…

Then you may enjoy the latest work from DJ Seduce – founder of Afro:Baile Records.

Afro:Baile Records, named after the music event held in Phoenix each month, Afro:Baile The Event has gained notoriety and won awards for it’s unique mix of international and local artists as well as a sound all it’s own. According to DJ Seduce, we can look forward to much more in ‘09.

Arizona Review: Can you tell us about yourself?

DJ Seduce: What’s up everybody? My name is Miguel Ivery a.k.a DJ Seduce – I’m the founder and the owner Afro:Baile Records. We’re an international record label based here in Phoenix, Arizona. We specialize in world music – Everything from: Jazz, Latin, Brazilian, Cuban, and Middle Eastern. We’ve been doing our thing for a while now and we had a really great year in 2008. [We're] really looking forward to plugging 2009 and continuing on this high road that [we've been on] since we started.

AZR: What are your highlights of 2008?

DJ Seduce: 2008 saw us put together quite a few releases. We had 4 releases out this year; We celebrated our 2 year anniversary of Afro:Baile The Event which is the whole reason we started the Afro:Baile Records in the first place. We also did a number of TV/Radio interviews and we started getting rotational radio air play this year as well; so we’ve had alot of highs and alot of great accomplishments this year.

dj-seduceAZR: What are your plans for 2009?

DJ Seduce: 2009 is looking pretty good. We’re definitely riding high on the successes of 2008 with the 4 releases – we released Brazil Sambossica right here at the end of 2008; so we’re riding pretty high on the positive press, reviews and TV appearances we’ve done for the the latest releases. [For] 2009 [we] put together a really nice tour and promotional campaign to support the album and keep on going. [We'll] see where it takes us – definitely got into a couple of different stores and got some really positive things lined up for 2009.

AZR: Where can someone listen to your music?

DJ Seduce: If you’re looking to listen to us here you can check us out online at www.afrobaile.com; You can also find us on www.djseduce.net and you can listen to all the records that we’ve released on the label so far – full video clips and audio, bios with links to go back to the artist’s sites and what not, [plus] you can purchase right here online as well and a portion of the proceeds are donated to charity; so its for a good cause – you get great music and its for a great cause.

AZR: Any last words?

DJ Seduce: And on the last note I’d like to thank everybody for the continued support from 2006 when we first started Afro:Baile The Event; Its been a great ride. We’ve been in Phoenix  celebrating two years – [and] we have a great team of people that are helping out with the video, audio, graphics, and just the overall support from the community – local in Arizona and worldwide. I want to thank Alonso at PHOTOBYALONSO.com for really pulling this together for us; we really needed a team member that was really on board and he came through – designing a logo [and] just giving us a brand that really helps us push through to the new year, so we need to thank him very much for that. I appreciate it – thank you!

Look out for us in 2009 because we’re taking over!
