Idle Red Interview on Jan4 2009

Idle Red: Phoenix based Indie/Rock band releases their first full-length CD January 17th.

The future is bright for this band of Phoenix natives whose new full-length CD titled “If Looks Could Kill” will take the band on the road for their second tour. Their philosophy of bettering yourself and bettering the world around you will be put into practice as they travel the country in their newly converted “green” van that will likely run off of bio-diesel fuel.

See Idle Red live! A CD Release party is planned for January 17th at The Clubhouse in Tempe – check out their MySpace page for more details.

Arizona Review: What are your highlights of 2008 ?

Idle Red (Steve): 2008 was a pretty big deal for us; we released our first EP called From these Ashes we Rise and as a band we went on our first tour – which was pretty cool. Then we got the opportunity to work with one of our good friends -  Mike Detto. And we’re putting out a brand new CD; our very first full length CD called If Looks Could Kill – its going to have 10 or 11 tracks on it and its going to come out in early 2009.

AZR: What are your plans for 2009

Idle Red (Steve): We’re putting out our new CD If Looks Could Kill and we’re saving up some money to get back on the road. We’re trying to get our van converted to run off of vegetable oil [to] try [and] be a little bit Eco-friendly; it will also save us money while we’re out on the road so we can afford [to tour] – well with this economy in the state it’s in… 2009 will be a really, really fun year for us.

AZR: Where can someone listen to your music?

Idle Red (Taylor): If you would like to listen to Idle Red you can go to myspace.com/idlered – we have our latest news [and] music up there, all our new videos (hopefully this interview) and you can also go to idlered.com and it’ll take you where you need to go.

Idle Red (Tyler): Or you can just come see us live January 17th at the Clubhouse – our CD release party!

Idle Red (Steve): Our music is available on iTunes, you can get it on Rhapsody, you can find us on Amazon – we’re not in stores like Best Buy, but you can get a physical copy of our CD if you go to CDbaby.com and just search Idle Red. If you just want to listen to our music you can find us on MySpace or Pure Volume to get to either one of those sites you can go to our website which is just idlered.com and it’ll link you right there – that’s probably the best way to getting a hold of [or listen] to our CD and then to buy it iTunes or Amazon or CDbaby.

AZR: Any last words?

Idle Red (Taylor): We’d like to say thank you to Photo by Alonso he’s been great – helping us out alot; check out his website – he does great camera work. We’d also like to say “thank you” to our producer Mike Detto who helped us with this whole…

(Rob belts out) ROXANNE! (band erupts in laughter)

Idle Red (Steve): So thanks to Alonso at photobyalonso.com and thanks to Mike Detto our producer – check him out through our MySpace it’s myspace.com/idlered
