My first Fetish Ball experience. on Mar9 2009

My first fetish ball experience was definitely something I would describe as interesting. Walking in there, I really had no idea what to expect, especially since I had received mixed reviews by people who have attended these events in the past. Since I am not a person to have the opinions of others sway me too much, I went in with an open mind.

As I entered The Sets in Tempe, AZ for Fetish Ball 9, I saw people in bare minimal coverings, mixed with those wearing elaborate garb. One of the first thoughts that I had is that this is a fetish utopia. The only important rule was to have fun, and be oneself. And believe me, people were definitely comfortable with themselves, and the community to show off who they are and what makes them happy.

Both men and women dressed in fishnets, corsets, costume, leather, vinyl, and everything in between. The fetish does not end in the dress. There were men being led by chain collars, and women being bonded by rope (and vise versa). Participants would enjoy the spa booths such as erotic massages, boot licking, spankings, and even erotic hypnotism. Moving from one room to the next, people could purchase goods to enhance their fetish such as leather collars, floggers, and more.

The fetish ball began at 8pm and ended at 2 am. Music was presented by DJ Squalor, DJ Mindbender, and DJ Kevin Brown. Each with their own sound of fetish and industrial music, people filled the dance floor all night. DJ Mindbender was later auctioned off and that was the last time I saw him. DJ Kevin Brown was able to set the background music to one of the suspension shows.

Throughout the night there were performances on stage. Club Mistress Fetish Artists presented with a Japanese themed tea ceremony. One performer crouched on her hands and knees holding a tray, that held the tea, on her back and another performer served the tea while his arms were bonded by rope to a long stick across his back that extended from finger tip to finger tip. There was more to the performance as several actors seemed to be doing different activities however adding to the wholeness of the picture.

The audience was able to enjoy other performances, notably by Sexy Hellcat, including burlesque and belly dancing.

Now, the reason I was most excited to attend the fetish ball was because I heard suspensions would be performed by LifeSuspended. What that entails are hooks going through the flesh which are connected to ropes and levies. The performer is then lifted up by their flesh. It is definitely something that I recommend seeing, and something that should never be tried without training.

To recap the night, I would say, it is something that is freeing, open, and accepting. The community is looking to expand and make new advances for themselves. People are eager to share their passion, and make the world friendlier for the community and in Phoenix, you can visit Fetish Alive to learn more about the community.

If you missed out on the Fetish Revolution 9, there will be another Fetish Ball coming up soon. Just visit www.azfetishball.com

Life is too short to hate anything. But, is long enough to find a lot of stuff not too like.
