Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction – NINJA ‘09 Concert Photos! on May16 2009

I’ve been having an affair for twenty years with two guys, Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro. That affair came to a climax Friday, May 15, 2009. When a band takes the stage and you get goosebumps, you know you’re in the right place with the right people. Opening up with “Three Days” and going right into “Whores,” I knew the night would be heaven. It took a couple songs for Perry to finally warm up to the crowd, and he didn’t disappoint!

This was the first tour in several years with the complete, original line-up of Jane’s Addiction. With singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, Eric Avery on bass and Stephen Perkins on drums, you know the set will be tight. After Perry offering Dave to the crowd for sexual favors, Jane’s went into “Pigs in Zen” and “Ain’t No Right.” Perry’s howl was just like it was twenty years ago. He strutted the stage and completely captivated the crowd. As the show went on, he lost more and more clothing. Yes, this is Perry Farrell! I looked around and everyone was singing along. The encore started with “Summertime Rolls,” which is the song I got married to. Seriously, is there a bigger Jane’s fan than one who gets married to one of their songs? I think not. As the steel drums were rolled out, everyone knew what was coming. The finale of the show was “Jane Says,” which seems to be the favored song among fans.

It was an hour I will never forget. An hour when I had more goosebumps and adrenaline rushes than I had ever had in my entire life. An hour of the ultimate love affair…with Jane’s Addiction.
