Sascha lends his fierce vocals most notably in the songs (Symbol) and Poltz Blitz, and singing in Russian in the song Davai. Lucia Cifarelli shows her dominatingly alluring voice in Bait and Switch and Strut.

There is a notable change in rhythms and beats between songs throughout the album. Changing from hardcore, to even whimsical upbeats in Me and my Gun, KMFDM keeps the album moving. “I like to experiment,” says Sascha about Blitz. “Going in one direction and then trying something different is part of the way. If I don’t change things constantly, I become irritated.”

The sound is completed by Jules Hodgson (guitar, bass, keyboards), Andy Selway (drums & cymbals) and Steve White (guitar, amp), whose talents bring to life the KMFDM sound that has continued for two and half decades. This last album was formed as a collaborated effort between Sascha, Tim Skold (former band member) and Jules Hodgson.

Blitz is an ever-changing album, with different sounds for each song, some going in directions that would not be expected, especially, the song Being Boiled which incorporated horns and a beat that reminds me of 80’s electronica.

It is the fearlessness of KMFDM to reinvent their sound and incorporate new and exciting rhythms that have kept them strong and alive for so many years.
